Educational technology in a large research university

The integration of educational technology in higher education is an extremely varied process, with enormous differences between types of institutions and over time. I trace the history of distance and hybrid education at the University of São Paulo over the last 15 years, and try to put it into a larger context of other large research universities and the growth in this period of internet mass communication platforms. Finally, I speculate how the current pandemic shock to the system may influence how technology will be integrated at USP in the near future.
