Resumo/Abstract:
TIFR GMRT Sky Survey (TGSS), is radio continuum survey at 150 MHz, covering the sky with typical rms noise of 7 mJy/beam at an angular resolution of about 20 arcsec. TGSS will catalogue about a million radio sources and is the deepest large sky survey at 150 MHz. TGSS will prove to be a major database for multi-wavelength astronomy. It is proving to be very useful for detecting steep spectrum radio sources, such as the diffuse sources found in clusters of galaxies. In sensitivity, TGSS is the metre-wavelength counterpart to the 1.4 GHz NVSS, but is distinctly superior in angular resolution. TGSS is scheduled to be completed next year. We also present some early results from initial data releases of TGSS.
